Phillip B. Richard is the founder of You’re Successful™, a company that creates products designed to help people encourage themselves as they pursue their dreams and accomplish their goals.
When it comes to encouraging yourself while pursuing a dream, Phillip knows what it takes. As a solopreneur, his journey began in the shoe care service industry, where he had an idea to create and sell his own shoe shine kit.
When Phillip reflects on his journey, he remembers struggling with limiting beliefs about himself and having to find ways to overcome them. When he needed encouragement and no one was around, he learned to encourage himself.
He would look in the mirror and say, “You’re Successful™.” On the days when doubt crept in, he would say, “It’s OK to Believe in Yourself.” Those two statements became his daily affirmations, reminding him to keep believing in himself, keep growing, and keep moving forward.
Day after day, Phillip kept putting in the work toward accomplishing his dream. He continued encouraging himself with his daily affirmations: “You’re Successful™. It’s OK to Believe in Yourself.”
Phillip would also listen to motivational speakers to keep himself inspired. One day, while listening to a motivational speech, something he heard triggered a thought: “What is success?” That question led Phillip to research what success is and how it works.
What he discovered was that success requires certain principles to be implemented. Having a dream and working hard are important, but Phillip learned that understanding and applying the principles of success was the missing piece of the puzzle.
Once Phillip added the fundamental principles of success to his process, everything began to come together. Voila—success at last. Phillip was able to create and complete Mr. Phil’s Shoe Cleaning Kit, which was sold on Nordstrom.com from 2015–2024.
Phillip then asked himself, “What else can I accomplish with the principles of success?” He decided to become an author and write a book. He applied those same fundamental principles and created 24 Simple Principles for Living, which was published and sold on Amazon for 6 years.
Phillip realized he wasn’t the only solopreneur who needed encouragement while building a dream. So he decided to start You’re Successful™, a company that creates products designed to help people encourage themselves as they go through the process of pursuing their dreams.
Today, Phillip shares encouraging messages on his YouTube channel, Phillip B. Richard, and The You’re Successful™ Podcast, reminding people: “You’re Successful™” and “It’s OK to Believe in Yourself.”
